SOS Children's Villages started the construction of an SOS Hermann Gmeiner Primary School in Freetown because of the lack of good schools in Sierra Leone. After the completion of the construction work, the primary school was opened in 1976 and handed over to the government for them to run. Later in 1988, this school was given back to SOS by the government.
The school comprises 18 classrooms (12 primary school classes, 6 secondary school classes), labs for physics/chemistry lessons, 5 special classes for dressmaking/textile work, handicrafts, typewriting and home economics/catering, 1 playroom, library, school canteen, administration and service area, multi purpose hall, and playground. It has a capacity of 400 students. View of school Going for lessons at school During school hours During school hours Physical Education lesson Physical Education lesson |
