The Association of SOS Children's Villages in Guinea was founded on the 21st January 1999. It is a non-profit making, non-political and non-religious organisation. Its main objectives are:

• ensure social progress and maternal care for orphaned or abandoned children or generally, those who need special care,
• provide homes for such children within the framework of the principles and philosophy of the Village as practised by SOS Kinderdorf International,
• do its best to develop and/or set up programmes, systems or projects aimed at the social advancement of such children through education programmes and professional training,
• Develop the fund – raising scheme and public promotion at National level so that SOS Children, SOS Villages and related projects are sponsored.

SOS Children's Villages Association of Guinea has its Board of Directors, which meets, periodically on the premises of SOS Children's Village Conakry.
