Objectives of the Regional Office

The Regional Office North/West Africa is a representative office or branch of the Secretary General's Office of SOS-Kinderdorf International within the region, established to promote and protect the interests of SOS-Kinderdorf International, and to ensure that all SOS projects within the region strictly adhere to the principles, policies and minimum standards of SOS-Kinderdorf International.

The Regional Office represents SOS-Kinderdorf International in all negotiations and dealings with the government and national bodies.

It ensures that adequate training is provided for key staff members including National Directors, Village Directors, Youth Educators and SOS Mothers.

The Regional Office provides guidance, support and professional advice in developing projects and in achieving defined operational objectives.

The Regional Office works according to the Statutes of SOS-Kinderdorf International and observes the laws of the host country.

It proposes, plans and executes construction projects of new SOS facilities within the countries of the region.
