 The SOS Kindergarten has been in operation since January 2003 and has a capacity of about 50 children, between the ages of 3-6 years. The facility includes only two classrooms catering for 28 children at the moment. The kindergarten is only opened to the SOS children.
During vacations, the KG premises is used for free time teaching of dances, handiwork, plays, sports, gardening etc. |

 The lack of water in the rural areas led to strong rural exodus, thereby causing the poor social situations in Praia. This brought about the idea of building a second SOS Children's Village in 1997. Construction of the second SOS Children's Village was completed in 2002.
