Once they are 14 years old, the youths move from the SOS Children's Village to the SOS Youth Facility. This special house is designed to help them prepare for independent life in the community. There, the young persons are guided to establish a degree of control over their future.

The first SOS Kindergarten, located in Assomada, has been in operation since 1984. The facility includes four classrooms, a Montesorri classroom, an administration, a kitchen and a playground. Today,  there are two SOS Kindergartens operating in Cape Verde; SOS Kindergarten Assomada and SOS Kindergarten Sao Domingos.

Located in the SOS Children's Village Assomada, the carpentry workshop was initially meant to meet the needs of the Village (providing furniture and maintaining the SOS Village facilities). Today, the centre is well known and offers training  to many youths (both from the youth facility and the community). Equipped with modern machines, the centre is operating with the  support of a young team   (most of them reintegrated youths). In addition to it good quality service, the sale of the produced furniture help to reduce the maintenance costs of the village.
