The SOS Kindergarten

The SOS KindergartenThe SOS Kindergarten is an integral part of the SOS Children's Village. It has excellent educational facilities and well trained and dedicated educators. Currently the kindergarten caters for only the children of the village.

SOS Hermann Gmeiner School

SOS Hermann Gmeiner SchoolAs one of the associated SOS projects, the SOS Hermann Gmeiner School was built in 1984. The school consists of 13 classrooms, a reading room also used as a Library, a canteen and an administrative block. The school started operation in September, 1985 but was closed down later in 1990. During the seven-year civil crisis, the school conducted daily tutorial classes for only SOS students. Renovations began on the school in 1999 and the school was re-opened in August 2002. It  caters for about 350 students between the ages of 8 to 20 years of age. Subjects offered are based on the national curriculum. The programme is enhanced with additional extra curricular and community activities. All SOS Hermann Gmeiner Schools operate a full-day programme with supervised homework sessions.

 
SOS Boys' Home

SOS Boys' HomeThe SOS Boys' Home is situated in the SOS Children's Village. It comprises of two apartments, with a capacity of 40 youths. Presently there are 22 youths living in the Boys Home. There is also an additional facility for the Youth Educator, and a kitchen where the preparation of the daily meals is done. The aim of this facility is to serve as a home for the adolescent boys, who at the age of 14 leave their family homes. The idea is for the boys to learn to become independent. They manage their household allowances, shop, cook, clean and do their own laundry. A youth educator assists them in making decisions.

The boys stay in the Home until they are about 19-20 years old, when they are ready to be resettled.

 
The Village Clinic

There is also a small building used as the Village Clinic which is located in the premises of the SOS Children's Village. The main aim of this facility is to provide medical services for some of the common health problems of all the children and employees of the village in addition to helping members of the surrounding community. There are two part-time nurses who come between the hours of 8am - 12 noon and from 1pm - 4.30pm respectively. There is also a doctor who comes in twice a week. In case of any emergency, the village van is used to transport patients to bigger hospitals or clinics.

 
SOS National Coordination Office

SOS National Coordination OfficeThe SOS National Coordination Office is the administrative body which supervises and coordinates all the operations of SOS in Liberia. It is situated within the premises of the SOS Hermann Gmeiner International School. There is also a board of Trustees (SOS Trust) which was founded in 1988. This board oversees the general operations of the village and offers advice when necessary.
